Our Story

Where It All Began

Welcome to KLA Studios! We are excited you found us! KLA was founded in 2023 by Krista Strosnider and Heather LeAnn Styer. Both Krista and Heather have been teaching and embracing the arts for years and are excited to join forces in this amazing new space! We look forward to sharing our passion with you through our musical theater, private voice and dance classes!

Our mission is clear, to create a space for all ages and abilities to explore the creative arts!

MEET THE OWNERS:

Krista Strosnider has loved the theater from a very early age. After dancing in the living room to the record of the original Peter Pan with Mary Martin, something sparked! She attended many classes throughout the years at various theater schools and sang with groups growing up such as Pittsburgh Children's Festival Chorus and River City Youth Chorale.

During her years at South Fayette she participated in any musical endeavor she could from musicals to show choir. It was her passion! Krista attended CCAC South Campus, spent a semester working at Disney World during her College Program experience and finally graduated with a BA in Theater and Music from Ashland University in Ohio. She has taught dance and musical theater for over 20 years. Krista continues to perform locally as well as choreograph. Her heart lies in watching those around her fulfill their dreams. She loves seeing her students gain confidence and use their creative minds to flourish into even more amazing kids.

Heather LeAnn Styer has taught private voice and piano lessons over the last 26 years, She taught Music for Pittsburgh Public Schools, and Robinson Twp. Christian School. Heather has adjudicated PMEA state, district, and regional festival auditions. She has been active in the RTCS and Bishop Canevin drama departments vocal coaching. Heather has sung with the Village Singers Octet as 1’st chair 1’st soprano, has performed in 2 professional productions of Nunsense, and has been a church musician singing and playing the piano regularly.

Her very first voice student’s quality of life was greatly improved when he was able to breathe more easily as a paraplegic. This experience sparked a deep desire to use music not just to teach a skill, but to improve the quality of life for all. This has led her to work over the years as a music specialist for PA Connecting Communities and the Music Coordinator at Vincentian Home utilizing the music and memory program to enhance cognitive function for the residents.

Krista and Heather partnered up last summer and the duo taught musical theatre classes at the Collier Community Center. It is a fulfillment of a dream to have a place that provides the arts for all ages, levels, and abilities. The pair are very much so looking forward to creating a wonderful community program nestled in the heart of McDonald.
